About
About Us
Kamla Craft Foundation
Kamla Craft Foundation embarked on its journey in Jaipur, Rajasthan in 2022 as a non-governmental organisation with a mission to promote Blue Pottery& other handicraft across India and to improve the lives of artisans associated with these arts. The village in Jaipur where we started our journey, many are professional artisans of Blue Pottery. Jaipur, itself renowned for its Blue Pottery, takes pride in receiving the prestigious GI (Geographical Indication) tag for this art form. Our organisation’s name holds a deep significance and a history that is close to our hearts. Our foundation’s name has been inspired by the name of Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay ji, an Indian social reformer who pioneered Indian handicrafts and uplifted women’s socio-economic status. Coincidentally, the name also pays tribute to Ramnarayan Prajapat ji and his wife Kamla Prajapat ji, who introduced and popularised Blue Pottery in their village by teaching the art to the community.
